Professional Profiles

Nancy Davidson Ph.D. earned her doctorate from Michigan State University, following undergraduate training at the University of Michigan. She is licensed as a psychologist by the state of Ohio. In addition to over 30 years of private practice, she also served on the faculty of Hiram College, taught at the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University, served as a psychologist at Emerge Ministries, and a counselor with the Veterans Administration.  She has special expertise in infant and child developmental psychology.

James Davidson Ph.D. received his doctorate from Kent State University, where he was recognized as a University Fellow. He received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University, and additional graduate studies at Ashland Theological Seminary. He is licensed as a psychologist by the state of Ohio. In addition to over 30 years of private practice, he evaluated the effectiveness of mental health agencies.  He also founded the Heart & Hand Foundation and the Country Neighbor program. He has special training in forensic psychology and psychological testing.

Mandy Davidson Mathews A.A. received her undergraduate degree from Cuyahoga Community College.  She has extensive experience working with children and adults. Over the years, she has developed a special expertise in dealing with insurance companies.  Mandy married Simon Mathews in June, 2009, and relocated to her new home in northern Virginia. Mandy handles our insurance billing and "back office" management through the internet.

The Davidson's have been in private practice since 1975.  The original practice was founded in Ashtabula. After they founded the Heart & Hand Foundation to serve Cleveland's inner city children in 1988, the practice was relocated to the more central location of Chesterland in 1993. The practice relocated to Willoughby at the intersection of I-90 and Route 306 in 2006. Their current location places LifeLine Counseling and Forensic Center at the crossroads of northeast Ohio. Patients routinely travel to LifeLine from Ashtabula, Lake, Geauga, Cuyahoga, Portage, Trumbull, Summit, Lorain and Stark counties.
